xSystem 3.0 Troubleshooting
Q: Oil is siphoning at the chain/sprocket after a longer period of time
Q: No oil is being dispensed from the xSystem
Q: My xSystem is dispensing too little oil
Q: My xSystem is dispensing too much oil
Q: My xSystem is leaking from the top
- Check the connection between the battery and the Unit, are they connected and is the connection tightened up properly?
- Can you turn it on and off?
- When the prime button is activated do the LED`s flow repeatedly downwards
- Make sure the delivery tubing and dispenser nib have no blockages, kinks or damage to them which would stop the flow of oil.
- Try priming the system according to the xSystem 3.0 instructions or our Youtube video.
Q: Oil is siphoning at the chain/sprocket after a longer period of time
- Is the Traveller Expansion Bag being used and is it higher than the Unit?
- Additional reservoirs ideally should be the same height or a little lower than the main reservoir, try disconnecting the Traveller Expansion Bag to see if the leak stops, if it does reposition the Traveller Expansion Bag lower down.
- Are there any air gaps in the tubing, suggesting an air leak?
- If there is an air leak then cut the worn end of the delivery tubing and refit for a air tight seal.
- Is the Scorpion Dual Injector being used and is it leaking out of one side only? ( see Scorpion Troubleshooting guide)
Q: No oil is being dispensed from the xSystem
- Does the xSystem Unit turn on ok, either manually or by switching on the engine?
- Is there oil in the reservoir?
- Do the LEDs on the Unit light up top to bottom continuously when the system is being primed?
- Can you feel or hear the solinoid clicking when the prime button is activated?
- Have you checked if the delivery tubing is damaged or blocked also check to see if the dispensing nib at your sprocket is blocked?
- Check that your breather cap is not screwed on very tight which can stop the system from breathing which will stop oil flowing.
- Are the battery connections properly attached directly to your battery?
- Is your 1amp fuse intact? (do not replace the 1amp fuse with any higher rating amp fuse)
- Press and hold the on/off button for 3 seconds
Q: My xSystem is dispensing too little oil
- Check dispenser tubing for kinks and restrictions and clear if necessary.
- Check the dispenser nib at the rear sprocket for damage or blockages.
- Check that you are using the correct oil for the outside temperature.
- Our ‘traditional’ blue oil is for average daily temperatures ranging from 0°C – 30°C, while our ‘high temperature’ red oil is designed for average daily temperatures between 20°C – 40°C
Q: My xSystem is dispensing too much oil
- Check that you are using the correct oil for the outside temperature.
- Our ‘traditional’ blue oil is for average daily temperatures ranging from 0°C – 30°C, while our ‘high temperature’ red oil is designed for average daily temperatures between 20°C – 40°C
- Push the rubber bung at the top of the unit to the side, it should pop out easily this way, then fill the xSystem up. Replace the rubber bung
- Prime the xSystem according to the fitting instructions until there is oil coming out of the dispenser nib at the sprocket.
Q: My xSystem is leaking from the top
- The top of the xSystem also functions as a breather to allow air to enter as oil is pumped out. The xSystem must not be installed completely horizontal but needs to be at an angle.
- If necessary, relocate your xSystem to a new position to allow for a more vertical installation.
